As the new Head Teacher of Alma Primary I have enjoyed meeting our families and getting to know the children and staff. I would like to thank all parents and carers who have signed up to become volunteers at Alma. I believe that the partnership between home and school is essential in helping our children to achieve and look forward to this relationship becoming even stronger.
Our main focus for development at Alma is to raise standards in Maths, Reading and Writing and we are working hard to develop the skills children need to be successful in these areas. We are always interested in ways in which we can help you to support your child’s learning and welcome any suggestions or requests you may have.
At Alma we believe that children learn best if they are motivated and challenged and as such we aim to deliver a curriculum that provides meaningful and enriching learning opportunities. We encourage educational visits and participation in the Arts, and we aim to give every child the opportunity to experience music, art and drama.
My major aim as Head Teacher is to raise attainment for all pupils and to support staff in enabling this to happen. I am enjoying working with a new leadership team and governing body at Alma and we are committed to working in partnership with the wider community to support Alma Primary in moving forward.
I hope that you find our website useful and if you have any questions left unanswered, please do not hesitate to contact us, we are always happy to help.
