Cafés for All

'Cafés for All' is a high impact approach which can be used by schools to help develop learning focused partnerships with parents, families, carers and the wider community in order to improve children's outcomes in terms of achievement and emotional health and well-being.

Research has proven that 'when early years settings, schools, families and community groups work together to support learning, children do better in school' (National Centre for Family and Community Connections with Schools).

At Alma the sharing of knowledge and skills takes place in an informal pop up Café environment created in the classrooms or one of our halls. Cafés usually take place at 9.00am or at 2.00pm for classes of children and their parents/carers  from Nursery through to Year 6. With the class teachers, they all work together developing their skills, knowledge and confidence in supporting children’s development and learning across the curriculum .

Dates for our Cafés can be found on the Diary Dates section of our website or alternatively on our Term Planners.
