Trip to the Ragged School Musuem

On Tuesday 26th and Friday 29th of September, Year 5 travelled to Mile End to visit the Ragged School Museum. The pupils were excited to see what life for Victorian children was like. In the morning, the children saw an authentic Victorian house and were amazed at how small it was. They were able to have a hands-on session with Victorian kitchen equipment and had to use their investigative skills to work out what it was used for.

After lunch, the children visited the Victorian classroom. The teacher was very strict and the children were shocked at how tough it was for children in that time. However, after the session the children learnt that the 'teacher' was only an actress and the children were able to ask her lots of questions about a Victorian classroom.

The children had a fantastic day at the museum and enjoyed their immersive experience.
